Coherent excitation of magnons is conventionally achieved through Raman scattering processes, in which the difference-frequency components driving field are resonant with magnon energy. Here, we describe mechanisms by sum-frequency can be used to coherently excite two-particle absorption processes. We use Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert formalism compare spin-precession amplitudes that different types impulsive stimulated and ionic processes their counterparts induce an antiferromagnetic model system. show enabled linearly polarized fields yield efficiencies comparable or larger than established techniques, while elliptical polarizations produce only weak circularly no at all.
